I have been a slacker when it comes to writing my blog, but I will try to do better. We'll see how that goes. I have to admit I'm impressed with people who update their blogs on a regular basis. Here are a some pics from a few things I've done lately.

New Website Design
![]() |
Kate Plummer |
Sandlapper Photography has a new website design. After having the same website for several years we decided to make a change. The old web design served itself well but it was time for something new. I will be able to add and subtract pictures more easily and also the new design has a direct link to the smugmug site for viewing and a link to the blog as well. I hope everyone likes the new design.
This little lady is Kate Plummer, she turned 1 in May and we had a photo session before she moved with her parents to Nashville, we wish them well and we will miss them.

Weddings, Families and Babies oh my!

Second there was the Batliner family with little Charlie stealing the show, this was the third time that I have worked with them and the little guy had a lot of fun out on the beach at Sullivan's Island.

Tiffany Maternity Portraits
I had the opportunity to photograph Tiffany last week as she nears the birth of her first child. We met at her home with her husband James, her mom Dee and her two dogs. We spent about an hour inside and out taking some shots with her and James and baby to be. Maternity portraits at times can be a little tricky because you want to make sure that the mom to be is comfortable with the poses that she does and also with maternity portraits you want to be sure that the mom to be is ok with showing her belly. If she doesn't want to completely show her belly then you have to work with her clothing to show that pregnancy can be a beautiful and exciting time for a woman and her husband.

Snow in the Lowcountry
It actually snowed in the Lowcountry of SC last night. In my lifetime that has happened only a handfull of times. My girls had a fun time in the white stuff until their hands and feet got a little too cold and wet. Even though it was very pretty I am glad its stay was short and sweet. I got a text from my sister in TN this morning and she said it snowed in 49 states yesterday so I guess we shouldn't feel so special after all. I guess Hawaii is the only state that should feel special. I am assuming that Hawaii was the warm spot for the country.

Allie and Kevin

Allie and Kevin were married
January 23rd in Mt. Pleasant at St. Andrews Church with their reception on Sullivan's Island at the Sand Dunes Club. The couple arrived seperately on a trolley with their bridal party. The church was full of family and friends there to wish the couple good luck on their big day. After the wedding the couple and the bridal party boarded the trolley and headed over to Sullivan's Island for the reception. The bridal party entered the reception as if they were entering the ring for a wrestling match, much to the delight of the guests that were on hand.

The First Time

Here I am forty something years old and writing a blog. I know that blogs are a very common thing on the internet but I am slowly allowing myself to become involved in social networking. I have a facebook account but am still hesitant about twitter, so I thought I would try my hand at writing a blog. I will check in from time to time to write about photography jobs that I have done or things that happen in my day to day life and the world around me. I have friends that write blogs almost everyday, I don't think that I will be doing that but I will be writing when the urge strikes. Thanks for reading my random thought for today.
